In many ways, 2010 has been the most extraordinary year of my life. I enrolled in a night course in photography in January 2010, not knowing what I was getting myself into. Little did I know that those three hours on Tuesday nights would ignite in me a passion greater than anything I could have ever imagined. It changed my life forever.
I wouldn’t recognize myself if I was looking ahead from this time last year. I hardly go anywhere without a camera anymore. I eat, sleep and breathe photography. I predict 2011 will be even more incredible. Tomorrow I begin the journey of recording the journey on film. I will be shooting at least one frame on my nikkormat every day- sort of my own version of the 365 but with some of my own rules which I will share later.
This shot was taken a while ago, but I thought it was a fitting image to share today considering I took it while walking from the Subway to go check out Ryerson University for the first time. I’m crossing my fingers that this will be a walk I will be taking many, many times over the next few years… it seems almost metaphorical in a way. Looking out to new growth and possibilities.
Here’s to another great year!!!
