offcuts asked: Re you one film image a day, over on photonfantastic, I'm going to do that too. I like all the 365 projects on Flickr, but there's kind of an assumption that you're going to do it digitally so you'll probably be posting pretty close to when you took the picture and you'll most probably be posting the pictures in order. I want mine displayed in order, but I don't want to potentially wait 6 months to continue if one day's photo happens to be on some odd camera that I don't use very often.

Also I need to get a diary!

Exactly. I like the idea of 365 in that it encourages you to shoot every day, which is a good thing. I have no interest in doing it digitally, and so as I started thinking about how I could do it on film I realized the project would look very different for me. I thought about dedicating one film camera to it, then shooting one image a day on it and posting them one at a time when I developed the roll. As I thought more though, I realized that some days my shot might not turn out, or I might not want to share it. Thats one problem I have with 365- I don’t want to post something I’m not in the least bit proud of. I see a lot of great stuff coming out of 365, but lets face it- you can’t come up with something great every day and thats not the point. I don’t see the point of sharing a half assed photo.

So what its going to look like for me, I’ve decided, is that I will shoot at least one shot per day, sometimes more. I will keep these photos separate from school work, other personal projects, etc. and post anything good that comes out of it in one place. I envision them all being sort of ‘everyday moments’, a documentation of my personal life, a ‘visual diary’. This is the only way its going to work for me.

Good luck to you with your project! Glad to hear there is someone else adapting the 365 to film :)
